The DMEC will meet once a year throughout the life of the trial (or more frequently if advised by the Chair), approximately 4 weeks before the TSC meet so that the DMEC can make a recommendation to the TSC on the continuation of the trial.  We will follow the provided by the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Efficacy and Mechanisms Evaluation (EME) guidelines and the Medical Research Council Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice in Clinical Trials on the scope and composition of the DMEC.

The DMEC will be quorate when the Independent Chair and one or more independent members are in attendance.
